1. Vân Long Wetland Nature Reserve – The Land of the Langurs
Begin your day with a tranquil boat trip through Vân Long Wetland, a hidden paradise often called the “Bay Without Waves.” The water here is so still it perfectly mirrors the limestone peaks that rise dramatically from the surface.
During the 1.5-hour boat ride, your local rower will gently paddle through clear waterways lined with reeds and lotus plants. Keep your eyes open — this area is home to the Delacour’s langur, one of the world’s rarest primates, found only in Ninh Binh.
You may also spot storks, herons, and ducks gliding over the calm water — a peaceful, dreamlike scene that captures the soul of rural Vietnam.
2. Bái Đính Pagoda – The Spiritual Heart of Ninh Binh
After lunch, continue to Bái Đính Pagoda, a majestic spiritual complex nestled on a tranquil hillside. Known for its record-breaking scale, this pagoda features Vietnam’s largest bronze Buddha statue, the longest corridor of Arhat statues, and breathtaking panoramic views over the countryside.
As you wander through the courtyards, climb gentle stairways, and listen to the distant sound of temple bells, you’ll feel a deep sense of calm and renewal.
